From the South to the Skies: Our RV Road Trip Update – 5,500 Miles and Counting!
By Dawn & Trevor – Worries Empty

Hello fellow road warriors and adventure seekers!
It’s time for a long-overdue RV life update, and wow—what a ride it’s been! When we rolled out of Stone Mountain, Georgia, with our tanks full and worries empty, we had no idea just how incredible this journey would be. We’ve now logged over 5,500 miles, and each mile has been packed with awe, beauty, and a few Bigfoot sightings (no, seriously… keep reading!).
https://youtu.be/IJQRKymNIgs?si=3FR7ngBhzYhGr6Zf The middle of nowhere! Yep, we found it.
🚘 First Stop: Northern Kentucky
We kicked things off strong in Northern Kentucky, where we visited two jaw-dropping landmarks of faith: the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. Seeing a full-scale replica of Noah’s Ark in person was beyond inspiring—both for our faith and our sense of wonder. These stops were powerful reminders of why we love mixing our travel with purpose. https://youtu.be/9Dp6yjV-3Ek?si=uq_tahAn-c0SWfD5 - The Ark Encounter https://youtu.be/A2PfWotrvKI?si=nLdR9TEDSgtnXx1E - The Creation Museum
🡸Ohio Adventures: Bigfoot, Ranches & Wild Trails
From there, we cruised into Ohio for a stay at Rocky Fork Ranch, a hidden gem that gave us peace, quiet, and plenty of space to stretch out. But it was Salt Fork State Park—Ohio’s largest—that truly left a mark. Not only was the nature unreal, but let’s just say... Bigfoot might’ve made an appearance. (Or maybe Trevor just needs a shave—we’ll let you decide when you see the video.) https://youtu.be/OnCqvNQ4KzI?si=w4Hv4aBMHnyO5eNj - Rocky Fork Ranch

🏡 Heartfelt Connections in Nebraska
Next up: Grand Island, Nebraska—where family hugs and warm memories greeted us. We spent quality time with cousins and uncles, then made a meaningful stop in Loup City to pay our respects at Trevor’s grandparents’ resting place. It was a grounding, soul-refreshing part of the journey. https://youtu.be/-Uad2g7YCuU?si=5c6CkHNFxcDr5aiQ - Grand Island KOA
🏔️ Colorado: Family & Front Range Vibes
Then it was westward into Ft. Collins, Colorado, where we reconnected with Trevor’s son. Mountains, breweries, and big hugs—what more could you want?
⛰️ South Dakota: Scenic Drives & Wild Adventures
We made our way up into South Dakota, and friends—the Black Hills did NOT disappoint. We saw Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, and drove the epic winding roads of Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road. We spotted buffalo, mountain goats, and more in Custer State Park (Pro tip: don’t leave snacks out, they will try to visit).
But the adrenaline didn’t stop there—we rented a Slingshot and zoomed through those curvy scenic roads like we were in an action movie. And yes, Trevor totally pretended to be Tom Cruise.
Oh, and did we mention the zipline and the Alpine Coaster? Two words: do it. https://youtu.be/rxwx9a1AGeQ?si=NL4wy1_Lbuya2Z4s - Mount Rushmore
🌄 Now: Devil’s Tower and Counting
Right now, we’re camped out near Devil’s Tower in Wyoming—just soaking up the peace and prepping for our next leg: Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, and eventually, Seattle.
