Sometimes it is soo Cold in Florida

Florida, known for being the sunshine state is a great place for us to winter, but, what happens when winter decided to actually show up while we are here. Expecting sunshine, it is quite a shock when the temperature drops below 35, and the wind chill is in the teens. I like to say that "anything under 70 degrees is Florida Cold". I also couple that with a few jokes , like. thats when we have to put pants on, or, yep then we know we have to put shoes on instead of Flip-Flops.

But seriously, there are a few things that we consider when we are caught in the middle of record low temps.

1. We get Propane. Yep, we have 3, 30lb tanks and having them all full will help keep us warm and having them all full means I don't have to trek outside in the cold weather to change out an empty tank, because I can keep two connected at the same time.

2. We also have to cover our plants, typically with a blanket just to keep them a little warmer than the outside

3. Next we should, but in this instance did not switch over to our internal fresh water tanks but by doing so we don't have to worry about the external water connections freezing.

We know in just a few more weeks we will have normal Florida Sunshine and all will be back to Normal.
